We are a local volunteer run scouts group based in Leytonstone supporting young Muslims learn new skills, develop personally socially and are stronger, more compassionate individuals who are a beacon of hope for their local communities.
Through skilled leaders, our young Muslims have access to a weekly programme which support, challenge and develop them, from speaking in front of thousands, to learning skills in the outdoors, to planting trees or learning to budget, each week is a true learning experience and it ensures our young people are well-rounded, resilient and able to cope with the ever growing demands of modern day life
Ages 6-8
Beaver Scouts are our youngest members. They take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, basic skills, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.
They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.
Ages 8-10 1/2
Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging.
A Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors. Camps and holidays are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs.
Ages 10-14
Each Scout Troop consists of small units of six to eight Scouts called a Patrol, usually led by a Patrol Leader. Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.
Rock climbing, potholing, gliding, photography and international experiences are just some of the things they get up to.
Adults
The modular training scheme delivers the full spectrum of required skills. Volunteers can choose training modules that are relevant to the role that they do, ranging from leadership to running residential experiences and first aid.
The training scheme was recognised with a National Training Award from UK Skills. It is one of the reasons why we have managed to increase our volunteer numbers over the past few years, against the national trend.
Young Leaders (Ages 14 - 18)
The Explorer Scout Young Leaders’ Scheme (ESYLS) is the learning programme for Young Leaders. It contains 11 modules and 4 missions for them to work through whilst volunteering in their chosen section.
As well as developing valuable life skills, the scheme is an opportunity for Explorers to make a positive impact in their communities and to fulfil the service elements of many of the Top Awards in Scouts, or their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Recognition of achievement is available along the way, and on completion of the Scheme.
